What is HuntControl?
Pattern and predict animal movements with HuntControl! How do we do this? It’s a long answer so stay with us. First, when the SmartCam takes a picture, it sends the image to HuntControl where it gets automatically sorted by species; even buck vs doe. After that, HuntControl finds the location provided by the user or from the SmartCam. From there we use that location to determine the weather data at the spot where the picture was taken. With this data, we can start patterning animal movements by the weather and time of day, and also start to predict future activity. The longer your SmartCam or camera is out taking pictures, the more data it collects for more accurate patterns and predictions. “I had been getting this buck on camera periodically, but he was not a regular visitor. I started using data collected from my WiseEye camera and the HuntControl app to pattern when this buck would show up. I avoided hunting this stand until the weather conditions matched his movements. The next two days were going to be very similar to his weather patterns. The next morning, I went to that stand and got in well before daylight. “I was getting pictures of multiple bucks cruising by my SmartCam both Monday and Tuesday morning while I was at work. I checked HuntControl Tuesday night and saw that the weather Wednesday morning was consistent as the last two mornings. HuntControl said the deer were visiting this spot every morning from 6AM-9AM when the wind was out of the NW and the temps in the 30’s. I text my boss and took off half a day to hunt Wednesday morning. At daylight I had a nice buck make a scrape 15 yards from me, but it was just too dark to shoot with a bow.
